Its time to start planning on where we want to go next. Anybody got any ideas on where and when we want to go?

Seven Canyons would be nice.  Not much rugged climbing, but great scenery!  The drive is kind of long, about 5-6 hours, but well worth it.

Is Black Bear pass in Co.  Too far?   I always wanted to run that pass.  I dont know if it would be a good idea.  Right now you could make it but it will be snowed in soon.  Until about mid june.

Seven Canyons is about 30 miles west of Bandera, Texas.  Bandera is about 45 miles west of San Antonio.  The place we went to a few years ago is privately owned and used as a hunting lodge/retreat.  Beautiful scenery.  Lots of land to play on, but nothing too rugged.  Staying at the lodge is sort of costly.  Motel rates in Bandera are reasonable.

That sounds good.  I am somewhat familiar with the area.  The family has a game ranch in ingram.  So this place is by vanderpool or leakey.

Looks like General Sam's is about 2 hours north of Houston near Huntsville.  That's really convenient!  New trails to explore.  Something to think about.

Thanks, Justin!

Thats about the only place I am going to say is a bad idea.  It used to be a nice place to play but because of the lack of maintenance it is gotten real bad. The deep mud pits at alto  are a  cake walk compared to the entire general Sam's park. Its mainly for four wheelers and mud buggies. Most of the trails are in passable for us.

That's good to know, too.  Guess we'll cross that one off the list.
