Do they make a winch mount for the H3? I don't mean a bumper but a front winch mount that would attach onto the front of the truck. I have a 12,000# Warn winch that I took off my wrecked F350 (I used it all the time) that was mounted on a semi-hidden mount that was tucked behind the stock bumper that I'd like to mount on my H3 Alpha if possible but not necessarily in the semi-hidden platform. Any ideas?

That is a very large winch for the H3.

I know it's a very large winch but it's what I have. I'm trying to sell it but if I don't I'd like to use it on the H3. I know a multi-mount winch would be just the ticket but I need to sell that monster from my pickup first.

If you are adding a winch.I would beef up the shocks and do the t-bar turn 2 1/2.

The 12000 pound winch is way to much for an H3. One and half times the weight of the truck is what winch is best. 9000 pounds is the most for an H3.

Of course 12000 wouldn't make any diff, just cost more!

hummasta,
Thanks for the link, it looks very promising.

chevytechtx,
I'm aware my 12000# winch is too big for an H3 but like I said, it's what I have. I took it off my wrecked Ford F-350 4X4 Powerstroke Diesel that weighed 8000# (1-1/2 X it's weight) and thought maybe I could reuse it because the damn thing cost $1400! That's the only reason I thought I might be able to use it on my H3 Alpha.

More is  better!! I'd put an 12000# on my hummer if I had one. being able to get out of the hole is the key.

I would assume that if you can fit that badboy on.You could winch yourself and an H3 with a trail break in tow.

My only concern is with a 12k winch is the amount of pressue on the front frame rails.  I have seen several bend in because of this.

Yahoo! I sold my 12000# Warn Winch today. Now I can look into getting the appropriate size winch for my H3. I've got a couple good leads so far, one at teakatoys.com
Thanks for all the help.
