The Whipple twin screw was the only real supercharger for the Hummer H2 - why? Because Whipple delivers instant extra power on demand, without the usual delay from centrifugal superchargers - the last thing you need in difficult terrain or transporting a lot of people is an unpredictable surge of power.
What you DO want is fully boosted extra torque at low rpm, horsepower you can use under lugging conditions, hill climbing, high altitude, or for passing in traffic.
