I've noticed lately, when I turn my rear locker on ,tranny in "N" button light on, then I struggle back and forth from forward to reverse, to get out of some ditch (that wasn't there last time I dorve this road). When I do get the truck out of the hole, the locker light is off. I'm not turning it off. Is the light malfuctioning or is the locker turning loose? this seems to only happen when I'm using the throttle to spin those tires excessively! I am getting out of the ditch, but not sure if the locker is working properly. How do I explain this to the dealership. (they'll never believe the walmart story)

Check you manual. I believe that the electronics disengage the locker once a certain speed is reached. I'm pretty sure that is in there to protect you from leaving it on and causing catastrofic damage. I could also be wrong about that but good luck. I think you described it pretty good.

You know, I've never looked at the speedometer while I'm half in and half out of that ditch, but I would be suprised if it said more than 10mph. Being that I'm actually not moving, in low range with the tranny in 2nd gear. Anyone know the answer to this question before I get up off my A$$ and go look it up?

It should not disengage that fast you need to have it looked at.

i'm not sure exactly what speed it disengages at, but its not very fast.

I went ditch-bogging in the snow this winter (low-range, first or 2nd gear) and it shut off between entering the ditch and leaving every time.  It still made a world of difference, as it got me about 1/2 way (and over the worst part where the snow got around 3.5 feet deep), and the rest was just wheelspin and clawing.

My dealer had installed my front locker and said it would shut off when the rear one did to also have this safety mechanism.  A friend re-wired it to just be on/off at my discretion, and I have probably paid for that with a blown front diff.  I am very dumb.

How was the Front E-Locker integrated into the safety cut of like the rear? All installs I've seen, like mine, are manual switched engaged? The other issues with running the front Locker full time relying on the safety cut-off is the front suspension. The reason the H2 doesn't come with the front locker is the steering binding problems off-roading with the locker engaged. If you have pull from the front end over the rear, it causes the hole front IFS to roll forward and backward. This causes huge problems with geometry and abnormal wear on ball joints, inherently causing sloppy steering. So I'm thinking you made the right choice switching to manual engagement for the front locker.

Having it rewired is the best thing you could have done. Wired the other way, it will get too hot and melt the wires inside.
