I was talking to my SGT. the other day and was told that the military Hummer axles are built practicaly bullet proof as long as the speed is kept under 60 MPH. After this the parts in the axle burn out. I am wondering if anyone knows why this is (my thought is maby the diff gear ratio.) and if there is a kit or parts available to corect this?

I am also wondering if anyone can help me find out what gear ratio I have in my 96' F-250 4X4. I want to have my Hummer axles geared to a final ratio as close as poss. to my Ford. The reason for this is my Ford has a decent balance as far as power and performance. I even out pull my cousin's 04' Powerstroke. Not bad for a stock 460.

I can also burn some good rubber when needed.
