That would be cool. I would be worried about someone breaking a window to steal it.

Our department drove Tahoe's for a while and we equipped them with a similar mount for the computer.  The mount was very sturdy, but the wear and tear on the computers was beyond expectations.  We had to change out all the computers and get one that was built for the sole purpose of being used in a vehicle that was constantly on the go.

I use the NCR 7454 in mine, got a power supply for 12 volts instead of 120 and wired it in.  The 7454 is a tough point of sale self contained touch screen and computer in one case that runs Windows XP.  You see them everywhere in bank ATM machines like Wachovia and Bank of America.  It has to bake in the sun all day, freeze overnight and still give out cash 24/7.  I loaded it with Street Atlas for GPS navigation, Media Player for music and video, Creative web cam, MS Biometrics via fingerpring recognition, horsepower allowance levels for authorized drivers, surfs the net at high speed through my AT&T Tilt via Bluetooth, and has an added wireless keyboard and dvd burner.  The whole project is documented at TurboHummer.Com.
