FORT WORTH, TX -- Motorcycle daredevil Robbie Knievel will be jumping over a different kind of vehicle at Texas Motor Speedway this time.

Seven years after successfully jumping over the starting grid of 20 IndyCar Series cars, Knievel returns to the Texas track June 7 when he will attempt to jump 20 Hummer vehicles.
It will be Knievel's second planned jump since the death of his father, Evel Knievel, in November. Before coming to Texas, Knievel will be at Kings Island in Ohio on May 24.
"To me, the jump is all about the show for the audience," Robbie Knievel said Tuesday. "Nobody puts on a show anymore. As an entertainer and growing up with my dad and being the son of Evel Knievel, it's a great thing to get to do this for a living."
The 46-year-old Knievel performed his first show with his father at Madison Square Garden when he was only 8 years old. He has completed 250 jumps, 20 of which resulted in world records.
Knievel has jumped the fountains at Caesar's Palace, successfully completed a rooftop to rooftop jump 13 stories above the ground in Las Vegas and in Palestine, Texas, in 2000 jumped 200 feet over a speeding train that destroyed his takeoff ramp.
"The jumps aren't getting any easier physically," Knievel said.
At Kings Island, Knievel will attempt to jump over 24 Coke Zero trucks lined side by side, a stunt similar to what his father did there in October 1975. Evel Knievel successful jumped 14 Greyhound buses lined up in the parking lot, a stunt broadcast by ABC-TV's Wide World of Sports that set a record for total viewers.
Robbie Knievel's second jump at Texas Motor Speedway will be part of prerace activities before the Bombardier Learjet 550K IndyCar race.
"He thrilled the crowd with that death-defying leap (in 2001) and is back with the ultimate drama in pre-race entertainment," TMS president Eddie Gossage said. "I don't know how many more chances people will have to see this great Knievel daredevil legacy."
