Who know's something about them? I've been researching them recently. The systems I'm looking at use an electrolysis system to pull hydrogen and oxygen from water and dump it into the air intake. It's supposed to increase combustion efficiency which in turn allows you to use less gas. I'm having trouble finding negatives. I know there must be some but they seem to be well hidden. :) I've heard one person say that this setup causes the O2 sensors to read more oxygen which in turn causes the pcm to add more fuel. There is a bunch of info out there about them and a couple intriguing options. Just looking to see if anyone here has any expereince or opinions on this.

I've been thru that site, but thanks for the link. I like the chick in the mini skirt pushing the product. I'm hoping to find someone that has done it, rather than someone selling something. Anyone know someone that has done it?

Here is a website that Justin has been looking into... http://www.water4gas.com ... he says he is going to be trying it.

Thanks, been thru that one also. I guess I've seen and read just about everything available on the subject. Never found someone that has done it other then those selling stuff. I bought the Hydro 4000 model and it's sitting at my house waiting for a weekend to install it. I'm on vacation this week but hopefully over the 4th I can get it in there. I came up with differring opinions on whether I will have an issue with the O2 sensors. The people that said I would have a problem said to either wrap the sensors in aluminium foil or put an extender on the sensor to pull it farther from the exhaust stream. I'll just have to see what happens. Justin, I'd love to hear what you do and any issues you come across. Please keep us updated on what you do. I'll be posting more as I get to installing it. I'll post up some pics also.

When I was in the Coast Guard, one of our planes (C-131A) used a water injection system for added horsepower during take-off. The system could be turned off when not in use. The system sprayed a water vapor into the carb and acted as a coolant and added compression (I think). Anyway, one of our mechanics developed a similar system for his car, and several of us used it, too. It involved connecting a small hose to a vacuum line running into the carb. The other end went into a jar of water through a hole in the lid of the jar. A second hole in the lid held one of those aerator stones used for fish tanks. When the engine ran, the vacuum from the engine pulled air through the stone causing lots of bubbles in the jar of water. The water vapor was then sucked unto the vacuum hose and into the carb. The advantage was that the increase in horse power was noticable. You knew right away when the water level was low. The drawback was that the jar of water would empty rather quickly. I had to fill the jar before each time I drove. A bigger jar would have been difficult to mount in the space available. Supposedly, the system saved gas too, because there was only so much volume in the cylinder, and the water vapor was taking up some of it. Back then, gas was still cheap and I didn't calculate any increase (or decrease) in milage. Book em

That's similar to what these systems do. It works on the same principal in that the engine vacuum sucks the vapor into the engine. These systems add an electrical current and a catalyst (I think that's the right word), which is stainless steel plates, and create electrolysis which separates out the hydrogen from the water. You can also use water injection for supercharger applications. In that case you spray the liquid water directly into the cylinders. This is mainly for the cooling effects though.

Tough mounting options. I need about 15" high x 5" diameter (it needs to be vertical). I also need to have access to the top and lower side of the unit for the drain and fill caps. Two spots look possible: between passenger side headlight and air filter; in front of radiator behind grill. The radiator mount presents fill/drain cap access issues and is visible from the front of the truck (I don't like that). Both locations require cutting. Does anyone know what is under the metal fender just in front of where the air filter sits? And how much room is between the metal part you see from the engine compartment and the plastic part you see from the wheel well? Is there any trick to getting the plastic pins out of the plastic wheel well so I can reuse them? And besides the obvious screws, is there any trick to getting the grill off?
