Just a short list of my H2 problems.

1. Transmission fluid leak inside radiator.
2. Catalitic converters burnt out - pricey.
3. Lug bolts broke - 4 each.
4. Check engine soon light - caused by dealer.
5. OnStar cell replacement refused by Chevy dealer.
6. Seat works backward - push forward and it goes back??
7. Volume light out in stearing wheel control.
8. Many clearence lights.
9. Windshield still leaks and did rattle till it was fixed.
10. Now I have a shimmy at 45 MPH / not tires or wheels.
11. Passenger mirror inop for the second time. Now out of warranty.
12. Big problem to get trailer brakes to work.
13. Three inner wheel well liners broke - seperate times.
14. Gas cap fell apart - replaced.
15. Hood cables rusted and broke.
16. Door squeaks - trouble getting oil to them.
17. Exterior tire rack rattles.
18. Front end rattle - might be related to 10 above?

It's an 03 model with 110k on it. But even with the problems I'll still keep it.
Just wondering if anyone else has had similiar problems?

Joe R.

You might want to take a look at the Steering assembly for your shimming issue. You might need to replace the Steering knuckles and get it realigned.

looks like you have had your full share of issues... However, never heard of the wheel well liners or the trailer brake issue.

Is there something out there where you may want to point me in regards to the steering linkage? I'm all ears and at wits end. Short of a 3 hour one way trip to Lynch Hummer in St Louis and making one trip to drop it off and another trip to pick it up I'll look at any ideas. Service bullitins? Other WEB sites?

Bought with 10k dealer program miles on it in Sept 03. I've added the other 101k.
It's the only vehicle I've owned that I would buy another one of. Even the same color.
70% highway, 25% gravel roads, 5% off road.

Check the idler arm and pittman arms. Then check the front hubs. These are the most common cause.

wow, thats a list.  My  H2 has 103K miles maybe I should get rid of it before my list is as long as yours! Mine isnt quite as long but here is a comparison:
1. (and most annoying) loss of air in rear air suspension - repumps when H2 is restarted, haven't taken to dealer - trying to trouble shoot with my mechanic.
2. Popping noises from suspension or steering when turning, mostly in warmer weather. (almost as annoying as #1)
3. Drivers seat works backwards! used to it now, dealer never repaired when it was in warranty - I was never given a good excuse as to why they wouldn't.  Just that Hummer didnt have a fix!
4. Leaky back side window
5. Wire disconnects from plug in shifter column, causing it to lock up completely - fixed it myself by jamming it back in, after the dealer failed to fix it right!
6. The dealership maintenance dept and service writers.
