Has anyone measured or found on the net the collapsed and extended measurements for the front shocks on the H3?   I am looking to upgrade my shocks to kings but, I dont want to take them off just to measure.
My plan is to replace the shocks with kings all the way around, add the jeep shackles, and modified sway bar links.  Get a little more flex and a little more wheel travel.    Maybe a custom Roger brown 1" body lift for a little extra tire clearance. that should be all I need.   Gonna be nice once I get after it.

That will look sweet! I plan to add Fox Shocks and shackle kit as well to my Alpha when I get it. I am also looking at rear sway bar disconnects. Let me know if you get the shock measurments cause I don't have a clue!

I'll let you know.   I will probably take one off this weekend and get some measurements.   I have to map out the sizes and locations of the body mounts and bolts anyway.

Thanks Auggie,   I got the shock..I took it back but you were not there.   In case anyone else wants to look around the measurements are:
extended from center of bolt hole to the upper mounting point is 15.25 inches, collapsed it  is 11.75 inches.   3.5 inches of stroke which gives you about 7-8 inches of travel at the wheels.  I have been looking around and it seems the best bet for now is the bilstein/cognito front shocks if you are looking for a little extra travel.   I cant find a shock that is extended length with the correct mounting configuration other than the cognito yet.   Ill start working on the rest of the suspension and body mounts tomorrow.

I have done lots of research and the cognito shock is the only one I have found that has the extra travel we are looking for.

Ron here is a link I found on another board  take a look and tell me what you think.

Swaybar Disconnects – JKS Quicker Disconnects, WJ 0” lift front, part #3100 - http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=QRDISC&Store_Code=JKS01&Catego ry_Code=Swaybar_Disconnects

You can adjust the length on these and at their shortest are around 1” longer than the OEM endlinks.

The fox shocks dont allow for any extra travel. I really liked the way  fox shocks performed though.

I was just looking for something with a heim joint . you beat me to it.  They look really well built.  I like how they connect with the end you attach to the bars.  When you take these off the whole thing comes off.  I little pricey but a nice well built product.   I am going to email them and find out the size of the bolt.  ours are 12mm bolts we could always make the hole larger but its much harder to go the other way

I measured the body mounts and bolts.   I sent the measurements to http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/ProductLine.shtml but they are not open until late november. So I wont know anything about the body lift until then.    Its looks pretty straightforward with only minor problems.  The bumpers cant be moved easily but with only 1" it wont be a big deal for most.  Especially if you have a winch bumper on the front ( it sits real close anyway).   The rear wont be an issue because it will help to clear a 35" spare mounted to the rear door and it wont be very noticeable.  the steering shaft and fuel filler look to have enough play to fit.  The only real problem is the radiator.  It doesn't have conventional mounting with bolts.  It use plastic mounting pins that slide into mounts on the body.  When you lift the body the radiator will move also and then the engine fan will hit the fan shroud.  This can be fixed by removing the lower portion of the shroud and should keep the the airflow close to the same but not quite or aftermarket electric fans can be mounted and the factory fan and shroud can be removed completely.  The electric is a better route because the fans can be mounted to a master cutoff switch and turned off when fording deep water crossings.   But, that option will add a couple hundred to the cost.

I just found that the H3 frt shocks with extended travel are the same as a chevy/gmc 1500 series 4X4 pickup shock with a 2 inch lift from 99-06.  The bilstein part number crosses to those models.  #BE5-C153-H0    For the rear it looks like this model with the crossbar adapter for the top mount is the one BE5-A464-H5
