The H1 is an original military vehicle.  The two loops on the hood are access points for the vehicle to be quickly air lifted into or out of places in or near combat zones.  The loops in the back are also used to stabalize the load.  In non-combat zones, they are usually tied down to pallets and flown in on C-130 cargo planes.
