Man I tell you what after seeing the kit I am deffinately interested...  I would like to see it in action at Arkansas though before I make my mind up.  I think it is a better product then the other lifts that are at there.

When looking at the inch kit on a SUT, The stock steering and suspension geometry is retained. I think this will lead to less problems with the steering components. I would like to see more info on the inch kit and how that looks.

if i was looking at a lift - especially one that high (10 inches) i would be really tempted to just go with a solid axle conversion.  That should prove much stronger when swinging 40" tires around.

If the Traction Control System is disrupted from a lift or solid axle conversion, it'd be good to invest in a locker for the front of the truck.

Have you seen any front axle conversions on the road? I would be affraid of a major ride change.

Same.  Its a pretty sure bet that if you opted for one of the GM IFS solid axle swaps with leaf springs that it would ride like a John Deere and not the caddy ride of the stock H2.  You'd have to convert to coil springs (or air bags, i guess) to have even a chance at decent road-ride, but I have never seen such a kit for any GM vehicle.

I have seen one done and it is a great off roader but rides like crap on the highway. It had to be trailered everywhere.

I've had my truck for a year and wheeled it locally and in a few spots around the country, and had a blast.  I've got nothing but love for the stock H2 (hey, it has 16" of clearance, isn't tipsy, and can fit 37" tires, what's not to love?), but i've got the itch to do something cool with it now.

Many times when 'wheeling my truck, i've cursed my solid rear axle.  The H1 with its 4WIS is a unique beast with a special place in my heart.  Minimum clearance and/or protection on the parts that can get creamed while wheeling are sometimes really, really good.  And thats the big downside of a solid axle - diff bell housing just sitting there waiting to get creamed.  The big upside is simple strength.  Bigger than 37" tires on an IFS and i think you're asking for trouble.  I've taken out a couple shafts with 35's and 37's.

I'd love to toss a solid front in and see how i liked it, but ... the real beauty of the H2 is that its a bonafide luxury vehicle AND you can take it to Moab.  Its unique in that regard (well, except the other hummer models, lol), and if it became a miserable street vehicle I'd have spent probably $10k just to have something all-around crappier than a stock truck.  Also, you'd lose the ABS and TCS with a solid axle swap unless you found a total genius to do it for you, and that would reduce the offroading capacity of the truck in some situations.

So the SAS is something i think about alot, but will probably never do.  But I still think about it.  Maybe with airbags front and rear the ride would be ok?
