Advertising Rules and Regulations

Advertising Levels:

Level 1 Advertiser – This is a company who has the ability to have a banner(s) rotated at the top of the forum (350x35) and static to the right side of the discussion forum's main page (125x125). Level 1 has the ability to post specials in any forum they choose (4 posting max) excluding club forums. They also have all the abilities of the Level 2 Advertiser below. Level 1 Advertisers are acknowledged by a “Advertiser” user title and custom graphic.

Level 2 Advertiser - This is a company whose banner shows static in the right section of the discussion forums main page only (125x125). This type of advertiser is eligible to support group buys and post commercially in the Sales Department forums only (4 postings Max). Level 2 Advertisers are acknowledged by a "Advertiser" user title.

Commercial Posting Regulations:

For Advertisers:

- Level 1 Advertisers are allowed a total of 4 commercial posts at one time in any given forum category (Excluding Club Forums). Level 1 also allows an additional 4 posts in Sales Department category forums.

- Level 2 Advertisers are allowed a total of 4 commercial posts at one time in the Sales Department Category forums only.

- If an advertiser exceeds their allotted number of commercial posts, please contact a member of the staff or administration to have excess posts removed and/or archived.

For Non Advertisers:

- There is no spamming or commercial solicitation of any kind allowed on our sites other than authorized individuals representing a given level of advertising. Any such messages violating these terms will be removed at the discretion of the moderators and/or staff.

- Selling of individual items or vehicle is permissible by a private owner in our Classifieds forums, however selling multiple items of the same product is considered a commercial post and will be removed at the discretion of the moderators and/or staff.

- Personal classifieds belong in the classified forum and not the main forum. If classifieds are posted in the main forums, they will be removed at the discretion of the moderators and/or staff.

- Commercial posts from distributors who carry a registered advertisers product are not allowed. Distributors still need to sign up as a registered advertiser if they wish to commercially post on the forums.

Group Buy Regulations:

Due to the large number of Group Buy postings in certain forums, abuse of Group Buys, by both dishonest individuals who collect money and do not ship the product, and by certain companies who do not support this web community in any way, we have implemented these guidelines for Group Buys.
They are as follow:

1. Group Buys may only be conducted through Registered Advertisers. Any Group Buy that does not adhere to this criteria will be deleted.

2. Any user can organize a Group Buy, but every group buy must be backed by one of these types of advertising entities, and if a user is hosting the group buy, it must be in the classifieds forums, not the main forums. The only people that can host group buys in the main forums are Level 1 Advertisers and the posts have to be made from their advertising accounts.

3. There will be no cross-posting (a.k.a. spamming) or announcements of GB's from the Classifieds section to other general forums. Only Level 1 Advertisers can cross-post to the general forums announcing a Group Buy. Level 2 Advertisers may not cross post or post commercially in any forums but those designated as Sales Department Forums, and specifically that forum in which their product pertains to. Regular forum members can post a link to a Group Buy in their signature file and may only mention Group Buys in existing threads that are on that topic.

4. Every Group Buy must have a subject heading that adheres to a set form. This must include, in this order, the label “GB”, Product Name, Application, Supporting Entity, and Additional Info (if so desired).

Ex. GB– Heavy Duty Brushguard , H1, 1552 Design

Any Group Buy that does not make use of this subject form will be deleted at the discretion of the moderators and/or staff.
By making all Group Buys supported by an Registered Advertiser, the intention is to add some legitimacy to many Group Buys where private individuals who have no reputation in jeopardy and there is a potential for Group Buys with them to more likely to result in a bad experience. By routing it through established businesses or those who've shown a monetary and reputability investment in our community, this will hopefully lessen the chances for unsatisfactory results.

Furthermore, by running Group Buys through registered advertisers, you are helping to support companies that support the site. These companies help make sure that our community exists well into the future.

Advertising Rules and Regulations FAQ

Q: I’m interested in signing up for either Registered Advertiser status; how do I do so?
A: To sign up for either level of advertising, please register for an account. Please fill out the Contact Form and select "Advertising" in the subject. Please leave alternative contact and company information in the message body.

Q: I want to organize a Group Buy, can I do so?
A: Yes, any member can initiate and organize a Group Buy at no charge to them. However, every Group Buy must be supported and handled through a Registered Advertiser. Also, a group buy hosted by a user through an advertiser, must remain in the Sales Department forums.

Q: What if the product I want to do a Group Buy for is not sold by an eligible company ?
A: Our advertisers are broad enough and numerous enough that they cover virtually all parts. If not, many are willing to help out by distributing and processing the parts in question. If the part you want is unique to a company that does not advertise with us, you may want to suggest to that company that they consider doing so.

Q: Why were these rules implemented?
A: These rules were implemented for your protection as buyers and also to help support those companies that choose to support our community. By having companies register with us, the chance of our users getting scammed is much less as those companies or entities doing this business then have something to lose. The implementation of proper user titles makes moderating the forums much easier.

Q: What if, even with the new rules, I get scammed in a Group Buy?
A: If a situation arises where there is a problem regarding payment without delivery on product, any user should contact an administrator immediately if they wish action to be taken. Our staff will investigate, and if the situation warrants, that entity will be removed from having Group Buy privileges. While this does not assure money will be returned or the part will be shipped, a key benefit is that it will assure that fellow users are not scammed thanks to communication among our users. However, in the end, HummerTech.net is not liable for any problems that result out of participating in a Group Buy on this site. Let the buyer beware.
