I wonder if it is possible to put a v-8 under the hood of an H3? And how much would someone charge to do it? If it would be a good idea or not? Some of you gearheads out there need to reply!!!! That truck would be awesome with a V-8....I know you would have to change the drivetrain and everything. But maaan if you buy a base H-3, buy all the neccassry parts and find someone to install it you might still be cheaper than an H2.....HMMMMMMMM....Makes me want to check into this before I buy an H2!!!!!!!

Your a trip Crash...............seriously!!!!! But it would be cool, different............maybe you have came up with a brilliant idea, professor................... maybe....................Gas mileage about 4???????
That truck would get great gas mileage because it is light to begin with....So more power, less effort equals better gas mileage!!!!
Light!!! the H3 4500lb.. However a 4.8 V8 would be nice!!! I dont think it's that bad. The transmission is the same as the H2 (Hydra-Matic 4L60-E/4L65-E) so even putting a 6.0 Liter would be possible. Buy you a create motor and we can try it! I think GM will eventually give in with a V8, because of all the complaints of lack of power in H3 reviews and dropping gas prices. I think they will put the 4.8 liter, 305ci motor in the next 2 years and have the 3.7L as an cheaper option.

Yeah that is true. But there has to be someone that has already done this to an H3....But I think I am going to go ahead and get the H2 cause of the size and everything...You know they say the bigger is better...So I gotta have something big!!!

I believe that the inline 6 from the envoy would be a good candidate. Inlines are naturally have more torque per displacement and would be good for weight. That's what the H3T was until the bean counters at the ultra-conservative General changed all of that. That would be a better fit I think. Supercharged would be cool too.

I have not called to find out about pricing but would be interested in knowing all the upgrades they do with this conversion. Looks pretty packed under the hood to me. Sure would be fun to drive though. Wonder if they will let us take in a test run and give them feed back on it's performance on and off raod?

www.predatormotorsports.com this company seams to have the market on the conversion. They claim with the Duramax and the 6 speed Allison they can get you up to 30 MPG. We found us a 2003 H2 with only 321 miles on it and if we do this, it will go to Predator for the conversion. The only other thing I will have them do to it is get rid of the torsion bars and puta coils spring set up on it.
