Here is some diagnostic info from GM on the trouble codes and the parameters that must be met in order for a code to be given.  http://service.gm.com/gmspo/mode6/index.html

Im having some trouble getting help. Does someone know what the problem would be if you put the H2 in drive and it feels like you are starting off in 3rd gear?

I am not a GM tech but if it was a toyota I would say that you have a bad shift solenoid in the tranny.  I dont have access to any trans shift matrix charts for GM so I could not say which solenoid is bad.  I would get it to the dealer and have it checked out.   Try to avoid transmission shops, while there are some really good techs at those shops some have a bad habit of selling you an entire rebuild when all that you may need is 1 new solenoid.

I agree with Gunny. I've seen a few that were only solenoid issues. Before you procede. Check your coolant to make sure that the trans. cooler did not rupture inside the radiator and contaminate the coolant. It would look like Pepto Bismol if it is contaminated. Good luck.
